Each year in recognition of the National Red Ribbon campaign MADC works with the Idaho National Guard, the Meridian Police Department and other community partners to provide motivational speakers, K-9 demonstrations and prevention materials for students in the West Ada School District. In addition, 400 students from Meridian are invited to attend Drug Free Idaho’s Red Ribbon Rally on the capitol steps. Red Ribbon Week started in 1985 and continues to serve as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
