THE IDAHO WINE INDUSTRY
I hesitate to tell you about the Idaho wine industry because it's AMAZING and one of our best kept secrets. BUT we also want it to grow and be enjoyed by all.
With over 70 wineries and 1,300 planted acres, Idaho is known as one of the fastest-growing wine regions in the country, with natural resources to sustain world-class vineyards and wineries statewide.
The Idaho wine country is designated into 4 regions, the Northern, Southwestern, Southwestern Urban and the South Central.
Here in the Treasure Valley we tend to explore the Southwestern Urban Wine Region in Boise and the Sunnyslope Wine Trail, which is part of the Snake River Valley American Viticultural Area.
How to go about exploring the wine culture for yourself? A few tips:
Head to https://idahowines.org/ to get all the details from the Idaho Wine Commission.
Book a tour! I love me a wine tour. I love Snake River Wine Tours for Sunny Slope wineries and Ciao Bella Idaho Wine Tours for the Urban Stops. This is a great way to safely explore the wineries and get all the best inside info.
Head to the wineries for a tasting! There are so many amazing wineries to visit, but these are some I’ve LOVED.
